Friday, Jan. 6 Practice and time speech at least 2 times. Speech needs to be between 5-7 minutes.
Friday, Jan. 13 Practice and time speech at least 2 times. Second time through, video-record the speech, upload it (e. g., YouTube), and send link to Miss Dee for review.
Friday, Jan. 20 Incorporate Miss Dee's comments and practice two more times.
Friday, Jan. 27 Meet with Dee in person or via Zoom to deliver speech prior to Friday's presentation.

Hello speech-givers! Your outlines are due on Friday, Dec. 23. The purpose of this assignment is NOT to have you write the entire speech but rather to spend a little more time thinking about what you want to include in this speech.

Please read this document on The Four Steps for Giving a Speech. Your outline does NOT have to include answers for each of these bullet points, but it does need to show me that you have given some thought (and maybe done a little research) into what you are going to include. I would like you to email me your outline at dee.roth820@gmail.com. Please include the following in that outline:

Ideas for your introduction — how are you going to grab the attention of your audience?
3 or 4 Main Points you will discuss on your topic
Ideas for visuals you might use — it is not required that you use visuals, but they are very helpful for holding people’s attention
How your audience will benefit from hearing about this topic
